How the Site Makes Money

The Site does not use affiliate links. It may display advertising through networks such as Google AdSense, which pay us when ads are shown or clicked. We don't sell leads or receive referral fees from solar companies. Advertising does not affect the installer rankings.

Installer Rankings and Data

Installer rankings are calculated from public records: installation records compiled by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Tracking the Sun) and, in some cities, municipal building permits. A ranking reflects how many systems a company installed or how many permits it pulled in a period, not the quality of its work, its prices or its customer service. It is not an endorsement or a recommendation. Public records lag behind the market by one or more years and may contain errors; company closures are checked against news reports but may not be current. Always verify a contractor's license, insurance and reviews before hiring.

Accuracy of Information

While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date information, the solar industry evolves rapidly. We do not warrant that the information available on this site is entirely current, complete, or error-free. You should independently verify any information before relying on it.

Such external links are not investigated, monitored, or checked for accuracy, adequacy, validity, reliability, availability, or completeness by us.
